Oak Hill School seeks a creative and collaborative teacher for fifth-grade math and the fifth-grade advising team.
Specific Responsibilities Of The Position Include
- Teaching regular and accelerated mathematics
- Serve as advisor to a small cluster of fifth-grade students
- Supervise and provide learning support for advisees
- Help students during study hall, collaborate on grade-level and subject-matter teams
- Participate in class outings and overnights
- Design and teach innovative lessons that differentiate for a variety of learning styles
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, both in teaching and in working with colleagues and families.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A strong understanding of child development (academically, socially, and emotionally) and a passion for working with the elementary-aged child.
- Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Mathematics or closely related field
- Experience in curriculum development and revision (required)
- Prior teaching experience with elementary or middle school students (required)
- Experience with Singapore Math (preferred)
- A commitment to support and be a part of building a diverse community that reflects God’s love as expressed in the Christian tradition.
- Prompt and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
