What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cemetery Field Worker position at Oak Lawn Cemetery and Arboretum?
Beautiful, rural setting in southwestern Connecticut. Full-time, year-round position. Responsible for working with your fellow employees to maintain and enhance Oak Lawn's park like setting. Assist with burials, including preparing graves and entombment sites. Work in various year-round weather conditions (e.g. heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) Routine maintenance of cemetery buildings. Tree and bush trimming and pruning. Must be able to lift 90 lbs. Cemetery experience a plus, but will train right candidate to operate machinery and equipment including zero turn lawn mowers, back hoe, mini excavator, leaf blowers, snow blowers and other equipment associated with cemetery operations and landscape maintenance. Must be able to work an occasional Saturdays, when necessary. The average is probably one Saturday per month. Interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
