Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with the Board of Education’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications - Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement
- Appropriate endorsements or Master’s Degree in Reading preferred
- Previous experience and skills as requested by building principal
- Reading Recovery training desirable

- Demonstrate support for the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123
- Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative procedures
- Plan and implement scientifically based professional development opportunities using methods and materials which are differentiated and reflect input garnered from staff
- Provide small group instruction to students for the purpose of intervention and remediation or enrichment of skills and concepts related to literacy
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to determine interventions needed
- Evaluate students on a regular basis and provide reports as required
- Apply student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction
- Participate in the analysis of assessment data as it pertains to the school improvement plan
- Assist teachers with administering building level assessments
- Create a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and is age appropriate
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community as needed to meet professional standards
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the contract and Board of Education
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
- Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job
