Essential Functions & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, physical demands and working conditions required of this position.
Demonstrate support for the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123
Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative procedures
Actively participate as a member of the special education team in evaluating a student and determining disability when a case study is necessary
Participate in evaluation and annual review conferences.
Provide appropriate preventative and therapeutic services to students in the form of
Crisis intervention to general and special education students
Ongoing groups or individual work in fulfillment of the IEP
Consultation with parents and teachers
Perform risk assessments as necessary
Writing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans as part of a team
Participate in problem solving meetings
Maintain appropriate written records
Provide outreach services to students and families in the form of home intervention, phone calls, and referral to appropriate agencies when necessary
Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the contract and Board of Education
Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job
