Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with the Board of Education’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

- Demonstrate support for the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123
- Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative procedures
- Plan and implement appropriate instruction using methods and materials which are most appropriate for meeting district goals and objectives
- Provide small group instruction to students for the purpose of intervention and remediation or enrichment of skills and concepts related to literacy and/or mathematics
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to determine interventions needed
- Participate in the analysis of assessment data as it pertains to the School Improvement Plan
- Assist teachers with the administration of building level assessments
- Work with building principals and teachers to establish daily schedules for groups
- Organize and analyze assessment data for presentation and/or documentation
- Apply student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction
- Create a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and is age appropriate
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community as needed to meet professional standards
- Maintain and improve professional competence
- Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the Board of Education
- Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
- Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job
