Oak Leaf Construction & Electrical is a general contractor in McConnell, Illinois providing residential, commercial and industrial remodeling, additions and new construction in Northwest Illinois and Southwest Wisconsin. We are hiring an additional project manager to join our growing team.
At Oak Leaf Construction, a project manager is responsible for the entire successful execution of a project. Their primary responsibilities are to plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities for the construction, remodeling, repair and maintenance of our clients’ homes, businesses, and industries. The project manager will also participate in the conceptional development of new construction projects and oversee their organization, scheduling, and implementation. This position is responsible for successfully managing all phases of a construction project, including budgeting, scheduling, supervising trades, approving invoices, and meeting with the owner’s representatives, architects, tenants, and subcontractors by performing the following duties:
- Work cooperatively with our design/sales team and Oak Leaf owners.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines. Determine labor requirements, create schedules, and coordinate the work of Oak Leaf's carpenters on various phases of the projects.
- Create submittal/selections for materials to be used on projects in conjunction with sales estimator.
- Be the client’s point of contact. Conduct site visits with client prior to the start of each project. During the preconstruction phase, lead all design meetings and project meetings. During construction, lead weekly meetings with clients. At completion, conduct project close-out meeting and manage punch list.
- Establish baseline budgets. Track and control associated costs to achieve completion of projects within budget allocated.
- Relay all change orders to the estimator to be sent and signed.
- Review, negotiate and complete contracts with subcontractors on each project. Coordinate field work daily with subcontractors.
- Continuously evaluate the materials and products being proposed for constructability and feasibility.
- Assure job safety standards are being met. Ensure compliance with all state, local and national laws and building codes.
- Document all communication with appropriate project parties to create an accurate record.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position. Some evenings and weekends will be required during the building season.
Pay is $75,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience, with quarterly bonuses based on performance. Construction experience is preferred, but not required.
