Oak Level Christian Church, a non-denominational Christian church, is seeking a part-time pastor to lead a small delegation in rural Franklin County, North Carolina.

Job Description

• Preach Sunday morning worship services
• Prepare and lead the Sunday morning service
• Prepare or make provision for services of Bible study and worship during the week (Wednesday evening service)
• Develop additional Bible Study and member engagement events for the church (i.e., Sunday evening meetings, men’s and women’s Bible studies)
• Maintain a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through daily Bible study and prayer
• Prepare members for Christian living and church leadership by teaching and preaching from the Bible
• Attend to the congregation’s pastoral needs, including visitation, prayer, and counseling (as necessary and available)
• Perform wedding ceremonies according to the Biblical definitions of marriage
• Lead funerals, baptisms, baby dedications, ordinations, and other special services
• Empower congregation members to lead through volunteer and committee engagement, providing training and administrative leadership to this process
• Lead the church in an effective outreach program of witnessing and in a caring ministry for people in the church and in the community
• Serve as an advisor to the Deacon and Trustee Boards
• Be actively engaged in the local community

Qualifications

• Prior pastoral experience preferred though not required
• Seminary degree preferred but not required
• Must meet the Biblical definitions of an elder (I Timothy 3: Titus 1; I Peter 5:1-4)
• Can rightly divide the Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15) and apply a biblical worldview to the events and situations we face in daily life
• Believes in the inerrancy of the whole Word of God
• Teaches and preaches both exegetically and topically
• Born again and have a personal testimony of conversion and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
• Aligned with our church doctrinal statement
• Committed to integrity and accountability to those he serves
• Ability to maintain professionalism and engage with individuals courteously and respectfully
