Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, provides diagnostic and therapeutic health care to patients in Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living environments.
- Provide psychiatric care to various and / or specific patient levels- adults / geriatric.
- Perform comprehensive evaluations.
- Assess and diagnose patients suffering from mental illness disorders and / or dementia.
- Establish and document reasonable medical diagnoses.
- Order pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.
- Accept feedback and direction from the supervising physician.
- Create and implements a medical plan of care.
- Perform diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures within his / her level of training and expertise.
- Participate in clinical meetings.
- Prescribe medications as appropriate.
- Perform timely documentation and billing.
