Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with care, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and Center Policies and Procedures.
- Provide interpretation services for Spanish-speaking patients during interactions with staff and appointments with healthcare providers.
- Utilize various roles, including medical interpretation, conduit, clarifier, cultural broker, and advocate, to support patients' healthcare needs.
- Conduct needs assessments using standardized screening tools, such as PRAPARE, to identify barriers to care and develop strategies to address them.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
- Digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Programs, email, and internet browsers.
- Flexibility in scheduled hours and work sites, including evenings and weekends.
You will also need experience working in human or health services fields and education/certification in a related field. A current New York State driver's license and high school diploma or GED are required.
