What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Oak Park Dental LLC?
As a Dental Assistant you will support the Dentist through chair side procedures including restorative, crown preps, consults and other treatments as needed. Applicant needs to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide a great patient experience. In order to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients, the following is expected of a Dental Assistant:
- Set up instruments and equipment for appointments
- Perform sterilization and disinfection of instruments according to regulation
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative instructions
- Maintain supplies and cleanliness in operatories
- Type up daily clinical notes
- Take dental x-rays as requested by the Dentist
- Must be open to cross-functional training and performing various office tasks as needed
Skills and Previous Experience
- Dental Assisting, 3 years preferred
- Dentrix experience preferred
- Past experience with digital x-rays
- Experience in making temporary crowns
- CPR certified
- Ability to create a positive experience for patients and team members
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume environment
