Assistant Director of Nursing
Overview:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a pivotal role in the nursing department, assisting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position also plays a key role in collaborating with Human Resources to manage staffing, recruitment, and employee relations within the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in overall administration of the nursing department.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Staffing and Recruitment:
- Collaborate with HR to identify nursing staffing needs and assist in the recruitment and onboarding of nursing personnel.
- Participate in interviews, selection processes, and orientation programs for new nursing staff.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for nursing staff regarding HR-related inquiries, concerns, and issues.
- Support nursing leaders in resolving personnel matters and coaching staff on performance improvement.
- Training and Development:
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs for nursing staff, promoting continuous professional growth.
- Coordinate staff training sessions and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Quality Assurance:
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating nursing practices for quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the development and execution of risk management strategies related to nursing care.
- Policy Implementation:
- Help ensure adherence to nursing policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Support the implementation of new policies and ensure that all staff are informed and trained appropriately.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff to foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: LVN in the State of Texas
- Experience:
- Strong background in HR practices within a healthcare setting desirable.
- Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Proficient with healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
