Overview:
The Clubhouse Site Supervisor is a Part-Time Position. We offer competitive compensation, PTO and an employee discount for part-time employees.
Job Purpose:
The Clubhouse Site Supervisor is responsible for organizing, leading, and planning the activities at The Clubhouse afterschool program, Schools Out Days, and Holiday Break Camps. A high priority is placed on communication, organization, and risk management with this position. The position includes monitoring, interacting, and developing a safe and fun environment for kids to enjoy their time out and away from school. They will provide quality customer service to the families and park patrons on site.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain staff, child, and substitute paperwork on site, attendance records, routine safety checks, and general forms needed to operate the facility and program effectively under Park District guidelines.
- Responsible for the purchasing of program supplies, snack, budget maintenance, and receipt filing using a declining balance card system
- Participate in all monthly meetings and trainings as requested
- Maintain a working knowledge of all general departmental specific safety rules; obey and enforce the regulations and procedures established by the Park District and program description
- Assist with emergency procedures and building evacuation if necessary
- Maintain and document daily communication and cooperation with parents
- Mentor and role model professional conduct for all team members, participants and patrons
- Plan and implement age appropriate activities promoting the social/emotional safety and development of all participants ages 5-12 years old; post and turn in schedule as requested
- Resolve conflicts and problems that may arise between children through redirection and logical consequences
- Promote child growth and development through hands on activities, modeling, and constant adult-child interaction
- Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and supervisor by email, phone, and in person
- Maintain, inventory, and store program equipment and supplies adequately
- Develop a monthly communication tool for parents, supervisor, and new participants
- Record and submit site meeting minutes to immediate supervisor
- Maintain all program paperwork, files, and budget
- Secure general materials and program supplies
- Maintain a clean and safe program environment
- May be required to drive and transport participants in our Park District.
Knowledge, Skill and Work Experience Required:
- Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record. This position includes a pre-employment drug test and is part of a random drug testing program.
- Demonstrated skills and competence necessary to contribute to participants physical, personal, and emotional safety
- Knowledgeable in customer relations and have an appreciation for the publics needs and best interest
- Demonstrated strong leadership and administrative skills
- Team oriented
- Flexibility to assist with the physical set up and take down of recreation programs
- Ability to multi-task, supervising several small groups simultaneously
- Exhibit good problem solving skills and judgment
- Must comply with Park District regulations and procedures
- Certification in advanced Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 1 month of employment and keep certification current. The District provides this training.
Recommended:
- Prior supervisory experience
- 2 years experience working with youth in similar programming
Work Environment, Physical Demands and Considerations:
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds
- Ability to endure prolonged standing, sitting on the floor, kneeling at childs level, and hands on interaction with children during scheduled program hours
- Assist in the set up and take down of program materials/equipment
- In case of emergency be able to respond quickly and appropriately with child safety in mind
- Activities are performed both indoors and outdoors. Environmental considerations can include but are not limited to extreme weather conditions and building construction such as noise.

Internal: Park District employees
External: Residents of Oak Park, and patrons of the Park District of Oak Park
Hours: The Clubhouse: Monday - Friday, covering shifts between 8am to 6pm. Varies based on location and registration.
Schools Out Day: Hours vary based on program length and registration
Holiday Break Camp: Hours vary based on program length and registration
