We are working with a rapidly growing boutique law firm, located in a desirable Hartford suburb, seeking a Litigation Paralegal with at least three years of experience in Connecticut state and federal court matters.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience providing substantive assistance in the defense of civil litigation matters. Duties include file organization and maintenance, managing deadlines, pleading preparation, drafting subpoenas, gathering evidence, managing the discovery process, preparing for trial, gathering, organizing and indexing medical records, deposition transcript management, assisting at trial, e-filing in state and federal courts, and other case related duties as needed. Knowledge of state and federal court procedures is required. Experience with e-discovery databases is a plus, but not required.
The position requires demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe; strong attention to details; excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal); time management skills; the ability to work well under pressure; the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A paralegal certificate or comparable paralegal education is preferred.
