The Cardiac Sonographer, under the general direction of a physician and the department supervisor, performs complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures of the cardiovascular system for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular disease. The Cardiac Sonographer must be able to interpret acquired data and develop preliminary reports according to departmental procedures/standards with the goal of effective utilization of services and improved patient outcomes.
