Overview
The Accounts Payable Coordinator - is responsible for supporting the Accounts Payable process and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, suppliers and employee expense reports. This position will maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts payable transactions, and will be a valuable part of the accounting and finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong people and communication skills, experience in A/P process improvement, take initiative to improve, and can think outside of the box to find creative solutions to problem solving.
This role pays an hourly rate of $26.50 to $31.50.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilties:
- Process staff expenses and vendor invoices per the department schedule
- Ensure expenses and invoices are reviewed and approved in a timely fashion
- Support and maintain weekly payment process
- Support monthly accounting close process, including AP reconciliation in coordination with DOF and Senior Accountant
- Ensure a smooth and efficient process for all AP transactions
- Proactively research and resolve invoice discrepancies & issues
- Respond to all vendor inquiries promptly
- Assist in preparing annual 1099 reporting and verification of federal ID numbers
- Maintains historical records & ensures all invoices are appropriately archived via electronic method or in storage location according to record retention rules.
- Safeguards organization to keep all information confidential
- Supporting general accounting functions as needed under the direction of the DOF and Senior Accountant.
- Assist with month end closing procedures
- Prepare a variety of financial statements and reports.
- Operate a ten-key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
- Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
- Work in a fast-paced accounting environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new software systems and processes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Two to four years in a comparable Accounts Payable role.
- Must have a solid understanding of the accounts payable cycle including purchase orders
- Excellent written and communication skills
- A growth mindset with a love for learning and demonstrated adaptability
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
- Capable of working with all levels of management
- Knowledge of Sage 100, Net Suites and Coupa preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook required
