Overview

This position is committed to providing World Class Service for allAmerican Bank Center events.  The Event Security position is responsible for ensuring the safety and security for all events.  Special security assignments may be available during non-event days/nights.  The security team is a provider of direct service to our guests and must always exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Observes and reports activities and incidents at assigned areas providing security and safety for a client's property and the facilities assets.
  • Preserves order, controls access, and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to the buildings policies towards contractors, staff and guests entering the premises.
  • Patrols assigned location monitoring unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  • Secures property on both sides of the facility (s).
  • Locks and unlocks facility doors.
  • Notifies Command of unsecured rooms and documents accordingly.
  • Ensures no unauthorized personnel are permitted in secure areas.
  • Verifies tickets and credentials for events and facility access
  • Performs searches of bags to eliminate contraband
  • Performs crowd control
  • Alerts the proper departments of any situations that arise.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that Security standards are met and exceptional customer service to patrons, vendors, clients and employees is delivered.
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all employees by following the life safety and emergency program as needed
  • Monitors electronic surveillance equipment and observes attendees
  • Appropriately deals with unruly people.
  • Notifies EMS and police of medical or hostile situations
  • Responds to emergency situations and documents on incidents reports
  • Maintains accurate record/time keeping of security logs.
  • Ensures found items are turned into to the Event Services Manager and are documented accordingly.
  • Must complete and sign the required check list and notify command accordingly.
  • Responsible for the checking in and out process of radios and carts.
  • Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff.
  • Responsible to be knowledgeable of event schedules when assigned the Front desk post, as this is the first point of contact for patrons.
  • Front desk post is responsible for answering and directing phone calls.
  • Directs patrons to proper rooms and checks bags to prevent outside alcohol or restricted items from entering the facility.
  • During events ensures all TABC laws & building regulations are followed.
  • Other directives and duties that may be assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications

  • Prior security experience preferred, but not required.
  • Able to work American Bank Center events as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a non-commissioned officer as mandated by the State of Texas.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in the English language required
  • Ability to work beyond traditional business hours, including nights, weekends and select holidays, is required
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Must have earned or can earn valid CPR certification
  • Must demonstrate a positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude
