Overview
Utilizing independent judgment, the Operations Manager supervises and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the facilities, including set-up/changeovers, repairs and maintenance, and ice operations. This position provides overall administrative planning, direction, training and policies to Operations Supervisors and Staff, assuring the highest quality service to assure client satisfaction.
This role will pay a yearly salary of $75,000 to $85,000.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and participate in day to day operations of the Arena, Community Ice Rink, and Conference Center
- Coordinate and communicate all relevant information for event setups, changeovers, and maintenance tasks throughout the Events Center (Arena, Community Ice Rink and Conference Center)
- Hire, train, and supervise part time and/or contract staff
- Ensure ice is maintained to WHL standards for games, practices, and special events
- Work with stakeholders to schedule and plan for various on ice events including home and away team practices, Community Ice Rink events, team special events, gameday promotions, etc.
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of the facility
- Coordinate labor hours for staff and contract workers. Monitor and report labor allocations to Director
- Assign work activities, monitor workflow, identify and resolve common operational issues related to changeover
- Ensure employees have the equipment and resources to perform the job efficiently
- Coordinate preventative and regular maintenance for all company equipment
- Maintain employee paperwork including scheduling, attendance, payroll, disciplinary procedures, etc.
- Assist the Engineering department with projects as required
- Complete daily facility reports
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Technical degree from an accredited college/university/school preferred
- Minimum of five years’ experience in supervision of others/work crews required
- Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory skills and experience
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, clients, and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment
- Capable of operating Microsoft Office software; including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of facility and arena operations, changeovers and setups
- Working knowledge of operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, basketball floors, hockey glass, etc.
- Ability to oversee and direct staff in performance of changeover functions and ice maintenance
- Ability to follow written instruction, interpret AutoCAD drawings and execute plans
- Capable of working nights, weekends and holidays, as well extended hours when needed
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to meet deadlines and function under stress
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Previous experience with operating a Zamboni and ice maintenance is a plus
