JOB DESCRIPTION
Join OAKBERRY as a Team Leader, where you'll play a crucial role in leading our team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. As the highest-ranking member in the store, you'll not only share responsibilities with Team Members but also take charge of key operational aspects to ensure the smooth functioning of our establishment. This role will report directly to the District Manager.
TEAM LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead by Example: Demonstrate punctuality by arriving on time for your shifts, ready to deliver your best.
Set up the store according to OAKBERRY guidelines, ensuring everything from electric setup to ambiance aligns with our standards. Responsible for maintaining accurate timekeeping records before each payroll cycle.
- OAKBERRY Quality and Presentation: Ensure the highest quality and presentation standards for all food and beverage items. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper food and equipment handling. Act as the key point of contact between the company and team members for launching new products.
- Product Knowledge: Become an expert on our menu and products. Share your knowledge with the team, focusing on preparing and selling OAKBERRY products with excellence. Focus on preparing and selling OAKBERRY products (smoothies, bowls, bars, shots, beverages, snacks, etc).
- Elevate Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, fostering a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Encourage the team to suggest add-ons and specials, enhancing sales and customer satisfaction. Communicate customer feedback to the district manager to continuously improve our service.
- Act on Customer Feedback: Keep leadership informed about customer feedback and preferences. Implement changes to enhance the customer experience based on feedback.
- Ensure Operational Integrity: Handle the register with integrity, ensuring accuracy in all transactions. Regularly clean and sanitize equipment, work surfaces, and utensils to maintain a safe environment.
- Communicate Effectively: Follow official communication channels and ensure the team is informed about key messages and updates.
- Represent the Brand with Pride: Wear your OAKBERRY uniform with pride and ensure your team does the same. Embody the brand's values in all interactions and operations.
- Manage Inventory and Purchasing: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring timely restocking and accurate order inspections. Prepare monthly inventory reports to maintain operational efficiency.
- Support Team Members: Provide guidance for the team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. Ensure clear and effective communication among team members.
- Optimize Scheduling: Manage team schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations. Utilize tools like 7SHIFTS and Square for effective scheduling and communication.
- Be a Problem Solver: Serve as the first point of contact for call-offs or urgent needs. Address and resolve issues promptly to maintain smooth operations.
- Train and Inspire New Hires: Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new team members. Ensure new hires understand store procedures, customer service protocols, and company standards. Monitor and support new hires during their onboarding period, helping them transition smoothly into their roles.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or food service is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred to effectively communicate with diverse customers.
- Strong ability to handle busy environments, multitask, and provide top-tier customer service with professionalism.
- Demonstrated reliability, consistency, and commitment to scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with customers and foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Experience handling cash registers, POS systems, and inventory management preferred.
- Passion for healthy living, nutrition, and promoting OAKBERRY's mission.

- Comfortable working independently, often managing the store alone.
- Able to work standing for extended periods and lift weights as required.
- Holds a Food Handler Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Proficient in using scheduling, task management, and communication tools like 7Shifts.
- Uses a phone for staff management app, company emails, and text message communication.
- Proficient in inventory management, purchasing, and employee scheduling tools.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ability to ensure that all food and beverage items are made to the highest quality and presentation standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
