Sonographer

Oakdale OBGYN is seeking a full-time Sonographer to provide ultrasound imaging services to our patients in a private clinic setting. Our Sonographers play a vital role in obstetrical care and gynecological health; helping to diagnose and monitor conditions, assess fetal development and guide treatment decisions.

Candidates should expect to work primarily in Maple Grove, with travel to Blaine and/or Plymouth, if needed.

Daytime hours will range between 7:30am-4:30pm, with one evening shift per week (1:00pm-7:00pm). Occasional Saturday morning hours will also be required.

This position is a .8 FTE or 32 hours/week.

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare patient for ultrasound imaging through thorough explanation
• Review patient medical history and provider's imaging orders
• Perform obstetric and gynecological ultrasounds with quality images to complete diagnostic exam
• Demonstrate confidence and knowledge of anatomy. Use independent judgement and appropriate critical-thinking skills
• Create accurate and detailed ultrasound reports to assist providers with patient management. Verbally communicate findings when necessary
• Assist physicians with procedures when requested
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and an orderly work area
• Attend meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Physical Demands:

• Requires sitting, standing, walking. Frequent reaching and gripping; holding and manipulating an ultrasound transducer for an extended period of time
• Computer and monitor viewing, keyboard use
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
• Exposure to blood and bodily fluids

Work and Education Qualifications:

• High school diploma and completion of an ultrasound program from an accredited institution is required
• ARDMS certification in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) is required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in OB/GYN ultrasound is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.84 - $53.51 per hour
