What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Crew Member position at Oakhill Day School?
Oakhill Day School seeks to hire a new maintenance staff member. This is a part-time position of approximately 20-30 hours per week. The pay range is $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Plans repair work using buildings blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to use work order system
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Qualified candidates must have:
- Creative Problem Solving: Use a disciplined process to define problems, identify root causes, and evaluate data from various sources
- Collaboration Skills: The ability to work effectively with others inside and outside the lines of formal authority to accomplish goals and identify and resolve problems
- Communication Skills: The ability to listen, overcome objections, and work with others toward “win-win” situations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Candidates will be required to use their cell phone for business purposes as well as have transportation available for job duties. Vehicle use is reimbursed at the currently prevailing rate as dictated by the IRS.
