Position: Music Teacher
Grades: 4th - 8th
Subjects: General Music, Choir, Drama
Location: Oakhill Day School- Gladstone, MO
Type: Full-time
Start Date: 25-26 School Year
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach General Music classes that engage students with the fundamentals of music theory, history, and performance.
- Lead a Choir program for middle school students, nurturing vocal technique, harmony, and teamwork.
- Foster creativity and confidence in students through an annual Drama program, introducing them to the world of stage performance.
- Plan and organize school-wide performances, concerts, and musicals.
- Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student expression and growth.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and parents to support student development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field. Master’s preferred.
- Valid teaching certification (or in process) in Music Education.
- Experience teaching music and/or drama to middle school-aged students is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in music theory, vocal performance, and drama.
- Ability to engage students of diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
