Description
The Oakland Athletics are currently seeking a Community Engagement Intern. This position will serve to provide part-time administrative and operational support for the development and execution of the day-to-day Community Engagement and Community Fund activities. These duties include charitable donations, the development of relationships with the community, partners, and beneficiaries, in-game fundraising, and assisting with the planning and execution of community events and initiatives. The internship is designed to develop valuable skills and gain work experience with a professional baseball organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and fulfill community donation requests
- Oversee donor database of donations and item inventory
- Assist with game day initiatives including MLB initiatives, special presentations, and Nonprofit Partner of the Game
- Assist with educational programs including school visits, mailings, and database management
- Assist with Community Fund special events and fundraisers
- Assist with in-game fundraising
- Assist with youth baseball and softball initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Presently enrolled in an accredited college or university for an undergraduate or master's degree, or have recently graduated within the past 18 months
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
- Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
- Prior experience with DonationXchange software is a plus
- Ability to lift 15 lbs and sit/stand for long periods of time
In adherence to California's Pay Transparency Act (SB 1162), the base hourly rate for this internship is $16.50, consistent with California's minimum wage requirement.
