General Summary
Provides clinical care to Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) patients with an emphasis on sexually transmitted infection, Hepatitis C, and human-immunodeficiency-virus (HIV) prevention. Conducts patient assessments, prescribes and administers medication and treatments following medical protocols. Maintains and conducts audits on patient medical records electronically. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Required Minimum Qualifications
At the time of application, applicants must:
1. a. Possess licensure by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing as a Registered Nursewith a specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner; OR b. Possess licensure by the State of Michigan Board of Medicine/Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery to practice as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of Michigan. 2. Possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited an accredited college or university; NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing. 3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of Country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date. 4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.5. Successfully complete the six-month probationary period.
Special Requirements
1. Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. 2. When qualified as a Nurse Practitioner: Must maintain registration with the State of Michigan Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse with a specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner.When qualified as a Physician’s Assistant: Must maintain registration with the State of Michigan Board of Medicine/Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. 3. Must submit to immunizations as required by the HealthPay Range
