Medical Biller and Coder

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining medical records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate complex billing scenarios. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our practice by ensuring timely and accurate billing.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage.
• Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG for accurate claim submissions.
• Maintain detailed records of all billing transactions and communications.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
• Handle medical collections as necessary while maintaining professionalism.

Requirements

• Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of healthcare systems.
• Experience with medical billing and coding is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical records management practices.
• Knowledge of DRG, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and insurance representatives.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.30 - $20.38 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
