Job Summary :
The primary function of the Nurse Educator is to train and educate personnel in the long-term care center and to ensure safe effective nursing care according to federal, state, and facility guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities :
Ensure that comprehensive clinical training programs are initiated at the center level for nursing staff to enhance their proficiency in delivering resident-centered care.Responsible for selecting and implementing the appropriate training materialsLead clinical orientation for new hires and ensure existing employees are trained on a continuous basisSupervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout their individualized orientation periodProvide oversight to the Employee Health Program to include administering and tracking tuberculosis and hepatitis vaccines and tracking influenza immunizations for all employees.Perform annual competency testing and evaluation and clinically appraise nursing staff performance to identify areas for education.Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state / federal regulations and guidelines.Demonstrates effective listening skills and effective communication skills, verbally and in writing, with employees of varying levels of expertise.Demonstrates positive attitude and the ability to work as a supportive team member with all departments, in committee meetings, and with employees.Displays comprehensive geriatric knowledge to employees in classroom setting, in person, online, and during in-services.Other duties as assignedRequirements :
