GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Responsible for planning, organizing, and executing marketing projects and events to promote Oakland Thrive’s mission, brand, programs, and services. Managing project timelines, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns and events.

The Marketing & Events Project Manager is an at-will position and reports to the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Outreach
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Exercises supervision over the Events & Training Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Develop and manage marketing strategies for events and projects;
B. Manage project timelines and resource allocation;
C. Manage project budgets, track expenses and ensure all marketing activities are cost-effective.
D. Plan and coordinate all aspects of events, including logistics, marketing, and execution;
E. Works with the Finance Department to process invoices and handle financial reporting related to marketing projects;
F. Coordinating with executive leadership, content creators and program staff to ensure project goals are met;
G. Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing solutions to keep projects on track;
H. Developing and overseeing the creation of marketing strategies and materials, including digital content, print collateral and social media posts;
I. Working with the marketing team to design and execute integrated marketing campaigns;
J. Ensuring all campaign elements align with Oakland Thrive’s mission, brand guidelines and target audience;
K. Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors, partners, and stakeholders involved in events and marketing projects;
L. Facilitates communication and collaboration between all parties to ensure smooth project execution;
M. Develops and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns;
N. Analyzes data and prepares reports on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendation for future initiatives; and
O. Staying informed of industry trends and best practices in order to enhance Oakland Thrive’s marketing efforts.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field; Master’s Degree or certifications in nonprofit organization project management or similar sector preferred;
B. Computer literate with excellent written and oral communication skills;
C. Proven three (3) to five (5) years of experience in marketing and event management; preferably in a nonprofit organization or similar sector;
D. Must have a strong understanding of marketing principles and strategies, including digital marketing, social media and content creation;
E. Must be proficient in project management software (e.g. Asana, Trello) and marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM systems);
F. Must have excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines; ;
G. Strong leadership and decision-making skills;
H. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach executive leadership and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders;
I. Possess creative problem-solving skills;
J. Have keen attention to details and accuracy;
K. Ability to work well under pressure and manage stress effectively;
L. Driven by results and goal-oriented; and
M. Have a passion for nonprofit organizations and a commitment to advancing social causes.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
A. Must pass a required criminal background check; and
B. Must pass a required drug test;
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is full-time and requires working in a fast-paced environment where much of the work is done in an office. However, this position may require occasional evening and weekend work. For events, frequently working on-site to oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of events is required. Occasional travel is common, whether for off-site meetings, community client consultations, or to manage events in different locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet.
