Job Summary:
Our Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs to help patients regain function, alleviate pain, and prevent disability following illness, injury, or loss of a body part.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine the appropriateness of prescribed therapies and goals based on the patient's pathophysiological state.
- Record treatment procedures, patient responses, and results according to hospital and department policies.
- Evaluate physician referrals and patient medical records to determine necessary physical therapy treatment.
- Conduct patient tests, measurements, and evaluations.
- Administer therapeutic exercises to maintain or improve muscle function.
- Instruct and motivate patients in exercise routines.
- Apply physical agents as part of treatment.
- Provide manual therapy treatments.
- Use intermittent and static traction equipment to relieve neck and back pain.
Requirements:
- Licensed physical therapist by the State of Michigan or ability to become licensed within three months of hire.
- BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association within three months of hire.
- One year of out-patient experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
Potentially exposed to infectious diseases.
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly stand, reach, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear.
- Frequently sit, walk, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally lift/carry 25 to 50 lbs.
