Job Summary: Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Essential Functions
Consistently uses an outward mindset and puts forth exemplary effort in accomplishing his/her goals and objectives in a manner that helps others to achieve their goals and objectives.
Records therapy, test procedures and results of such as required by hospital and department policy.
Communicates information to appropriate members of the health care team.
Able to functions independently in out-patient and in-patient care areas.
Administers physical therapy treatments including physical agents to patients, working under the direction of and assistant to a Physical Therapist.
Administers active and passive therapeutic exercises.
Observes patients during treatments and compiles data on patient's responses to treatments and progress. Appropriately documents such in the medical record.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree and current Michigan license as a Physical Therapist Assistant; BLS from American Red Cross or American Heart Association certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: One (1) year hospital experience preferred.
Working Conditions: Potentially exposed to infectious diseases.
Physical Requirements: Constantly stand, reach, see/visual acuity, handle/grasp/feel, talk/hear. Frequently sit, walk, lift/carry 1 to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift/carry 25 to 50 lbs.
