Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Urgent Care
OakLeaf Clinics – Urgent Care a physician owned and operated, multi-specialty medical clinic is currently seeking Full-time (weekends included) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding team. This position will report to the Rice Lake Clinic location.
OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley.
Position description
The Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, is a skilled member of the health team who provides medical and educational services in collaboration with the physician. You may work with a wide range of patients and provide quality care from maintenance and prevention to treating injury and illness. This individual works within a cooperative department, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.
Responsibilities
· Stay up to date with latest evidence-based medicine
· Prescribe medication, examine patients, diagnose illnesses and provide treatment
· Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
· Gather health histories, perform physical examinations and diagnostic procedures
· Develop and implement treatment plans
· Dictate and document all patient interactions
· Notify managing physician about unusual or unexpected events or problems
· Effectively communicate with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families
Qualifications
· Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, Physician Assistant.
· Nurse Practitioner Certification awarded by a national certifying body.
· Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of employment.
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
· Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification awarded by the American Heart Association.
· Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License
· Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology
· A sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
· Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
· Ability to maintain highly confidential information
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Major activities of this job include frequent walking, standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. Some carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting are involved in the medical office. Use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility and good vision that includes near acuity, depth perception and accommodation are physical requirements necessary for technical work.
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full-Time, 8 to 8 M-F, 8AM-2PM Sat/Sun; Holidays 8AM to 1PM
