Remote (East Coast) Benefits Manager
Location: This is a remote role, but our client is ideally looking for someone based in the Eastern Standard Time zone
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 USD 10% bonus opportunity
Reports To: Global Benefits Leader
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to lead the Americas region for a global management consulting organization. This role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and managing benefit and wellbeing programs across multiple countries in the Americas region (US, Canada, LatAm). The individual will work closely with regional and global teams to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and alignment with the company's overall benefits strategy.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Benefits Strategy & Execution:
* Develop, implement, and oversee regional benefits programs, including health & wellness, retirement, leave management, and supplemental offerings.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for regional benefits, ensuring alignment with global policies.
* Lead negotiations and implementation of new benefits based on market benchmarks.
* Partner with employee groups to enhance benefits inclusivity and accessibility.
* Ensure seamless administration of benefits programs, employee engagement, and compliance with local regulations.
✅ Vendor & Financial Oversight:
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, audits, and performance evaluations.
* Ensure accurate financial reporting and invoicing processes.
* Oversee benefits enrollment processes, ensuring smooth execution and communication.
* Collaborate with payroll and HR systems teams to optimize data flow and accuracy.
✅ Compliance & Governance:
* Partner with consultants and brokers to ensure adherence to regional compliance requirements.
* Manage filings, audits, and legal requirements, including non-discrimination testing, ACA filings, and country-specific mandates.
* Stay ahead of market trends and regulatory changes to adapt benefits strategies accordingly.
✅ Employee Support & Communications:
* Provide expertise in leave management, including local compliance for family leave, disability, and time-off policies.
* Lead benefits education initiatives, including new hire onboarding and annual enrollments.
* Act as an escalation point for complex benefits inquiries and issue resolution.
What You Bring
✔ Education & Certification:
* Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* CEBS or a relevant benefits certification is a plus.
✔ Experience:
* 6 years of progressive experience in benefits management, preferably with multi-country exposure.
* Strong understanding of self-funded, level-funded, and fully insured plans.
* Experience navigating benefits in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction environment.
* Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday and benefits administration platforms.
