Description
At Oakmont Country Club, a lifeguard monitors pool activities and ensures member safety. To help prevent incidents and ensure safety, lifeguards must enforce all safety guidelines as outlined by OCC and remain alert throughout their entire shift.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with opening and closing the pool each day, according to scheduled hours
Closely monitor weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
Maintain constant surveillance of members and guests in the pool area
Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of members and guest in the event of emergency.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Present a professional appearance and always attitude and maintain a high standard of customer service.
Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
Help organize and oversee pool activities (such as parties, special events)
Provide swim lessons and coaching swim team when applicable
Stock towels and return used towels to the laundry department
Maintain a clean pool environment
Notify Pool Manager of any safety issues or concerns
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have the ability to remain calm and respond effectively during emergency situations
Must have certification in lifeguard training (including First Aid/CPR/AED)
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform all physical demands that are required of the role, such as swimming, jumping, running
Must be able to sit for extended periods, including in an elevated chair.
Must be able to hear noises and distress signals
Must be able to frequently stand; walk; talk, hear, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
Must be able to project voice across aquatic area.
Must have vision abilities required to efficiently monitor pool area
Must be able to handle extreme weather outdoors and work in various weather conditions.
Previous lifeguard experience, preferred
