What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Float position at Oakridge Homes-Woodview Support Services?
The Float Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides essential care and support to individuals with disabilities. This position is ideal for individuals who require flexibility in their work schedule, as shifts are picked up through the scheduling software rather than being pre-assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.
- Assist with daily living activities, including hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Engage individuals in community activities and social interactions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow care plans as directed.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure high-quality support.
Work Schedule & Expectations:
- The position is not scheduled but rather allows employees to pick up open shifts as available.
- Must be willing to work any shifts at various Oakridge locations in Brainerd, Aitkin, Little Falls, Grand Rapids, Staples, Eagle Bend, Long Prairie or Wadena.
- No minimum guarantee of hours or shifts per week.
- Shifts and hours may change based on new hires. If a new hire is assigned to shifts that a float has picked up, the float will retain those shifts for two weeks after the new hire’s hire date. After that period, the new hire will take over those shifts, and the float must pick up other available shifts.
- Not benefit-eligible unless averaging 30 or more hours per week under the Affordable Care Act after initial ACA measurement period.
- Must work a minimum of 2 shifts per month to maintain casual status.
- Must complete all required and assigned training through Oakridge learning system.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all requirements of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) position.
- Should have a minimum of 2 years of previous DSP experience
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules and work environments.
- Reliable transportation to various Oakridge locations.
