JOB SUMMARY
The Campus Security provides security to Oakridge properties ensuring that members and visitors are safe and secure; responds to emergencies and acts as a first responder in critical incidents on campus, taking appropriate actions within the legal limits of the department authority.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrols campus to ensure safe conditions in external and internal areas; checks empty units and community spaces for security and integrity of unit; locks and unlocks buildings and gates; enforces parking regulations, issues tickets, and monitors for any security concerns.
- Responds to requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance from tenants, police, EMT’s or other personnel; responds to alarms or tenant’s concerns by resolving the issue or calling in appropriate personnel for resolution and/or assistance.
- Resolves disputes/incidents involving members of the Oakridge Community and notifies law enforcement in the event of escalation.
- Monitors camera system, operating equipment and software.
- Identifies current or potential safety /security issues during rounds including property damage and maintenance; reports concerns / issues to Safety Officer II or Director.
- Delivers tenant notices.
- Completes shift, incident and other various reports.
- May assist in snow removal around office building during inclement weather.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma with a minimum 6 months related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Associates Degree preferred; experience in police or law enforcement with working knowledgeable of security protocol and police codes; certified in First-Aid and CPR.
