Elementary Faculty

Full Time, Exempt, Category 1

Salary Range: $60,000-$90,000

Reports to: 4th-8th Grade Principal

Job Summary: Oaks Christian School is seeking an outstanding elementary teacher who is passionate about teaching through a Christian, Biblical worldview (see OCS-A Christian Worldview). In addition, we are seeking an elementary teacher who loves the Lord, students, teaching, learning, collaborating, growing, and developing strong character in their own life and in the lives of their students. Our elementary classrooms are a part of our “Village”, located on the Middle School campus.

Requirements

• A teacher who is a devoted and mature follower of Jesus Christ.
• A teacher who continually strives to become a true expert in his or her field (content, instructional methodology, student engagement, professionalism).
• A teacher who is ready to integrate vibrant faith with excellent academics, while providing a “culture of care” in and out of the classroom.
• A teacher who loves to work collaboratively with other teachers and educators.
• A teacher who is inspiring, innovative, and nurturing.
• A teacher who understands and can clearly articulate the Gospel.
• A teacher who possesses a degree in elementary education and who preferably has 3 or more years of teaching experience (a California credential is preferred).
  
  

Job Duties

• Instruct in all classes including ELA, math, social studies, science, and Bible.
• Consistently plan engaging, effective, and innovative lessons.
• Provide a welcoming learning environment that allows for collaboration and independence.
• Foster an affirming, yet challenging, environment of learning.
• Provide timely and effective feedback to support continued student learning.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records, grades, and attendance reports.
• Implement a consistent discipline plan in a positive atmosphere.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of the students.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and needs of the students.
• Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development of the curriculum.
• Be available after school for assistance with students needing extra help.
• Participate in school-wide or school-sponsored community events.
• Support Oaks Christian School’s mission, motto, and Statement of Faith.
