The Oaks of Clearwater has a 60-bed skilled nursing facility on our second floor. We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing. This position is responsible for ensuring quality care that is consistent with the company, federal and state regulatory standards. The Oaks of Clearwater has been privately owned for over 30 years and are committed to our facility and residents. We are revamping our site and looking for the qualified assistant director of nursing to join us. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities. Primary duties include managing the Nursing department with at least 50% of the time performing exempt work. Planning and controlling the staffing of the nursing department, the continuing education of the nursing department, the budget of the department, employee hiring, counseling and termination and monitoring legal compliance measures within the department.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
It is preferred that the Director of Nursing will have received a nursing degree from an accredited college or university. It is preferred that the Director of Nursing will have advanced education in nursing management, administration, geriatric nursing, and rehabilitation, relevant to working in this position.
LICENSURE
The Director of Nursing will hold a current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in this state and receive required continuing education units for license renewal.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The Oaks of Clearwater prefers the Director of Nursing will have three years experience in geriatrics and or rehabilitation, with proven success in a supervisory position, competence in meeting performance standards related to those of this position, with at least two years experience implementing total patient care and care planning and in making sound nursing judgments within the past five years. It is preferred that the Director of Nursing will have at least five years experience supervising others in a hospital, long term care facility or other health care institution, with at least two years experience implementing total patient care and care planning and in making sound nursing judgments. In addition, the Director of Nursing will have at least six months experience managing a nursing department or assisting with managing a nursing department.
