Full job description
General Manager
Are you a hospitality leader who thrives in high-performing environments and is ready to take an award-winning hotel to new heights?
Oaktenn, Inc. has four hotels in Sevier County and is seeking a dynamic, sales-minded, operations-driven General Manager to lead one of our custom-built properties. This role is ideal for a well-rounded GM with experience in limited-service or select-service hotels who's eager to balance operational excellence with proactive sales leadership.
Your Core Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the hotel maintains exceptional guest satisfaction across all departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast, etc.).
- Monitor quality assurance, safety, and cleanliness standards in line with internal benchmarks.
- Lead and mentor department heads to foster a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and accountability.
- Optimize labor, inventory, and operational workflows for efficiency and profitability.
- Maintain a strong presence on-property and be hands-on to support the team and guest experience.
- Demonstrate excellent time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment.
Sales Leadership
- Work closely with our Sales Manager to support sales initiatives. While you won't be making cold calls, you will be the leader responsible for the hotel's overall success—including sales performance.
- Collaborate on business development efforts, group bookings, and local market engagement.
- Attend networking events and community functions to promote the hotel's offerings and meeting/event spaces.
- Actively participate in sales meetings, planning, and strategic discussions.
Team Culture & Owner Collaboration
- Inspire, train, and retain a high-performing team with a focus on guest satisfaction, service consistency, and professional growth.
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment where team members feel valued and supported.
- Serve as a trusted partner to our corporate office—providing clear, consistent updates on performance, opportunities, and property needs.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of hotel operations leadership experience, with at least 2 years as a General Manager or AGM/Operations Manager in a select-service environment.
- Strong focus on profitability through cost control, efficiency, and effective management of resources.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Open-minded and collaboratively spirited personality!
Why Join Us?
- Supportive ownership group that values solutions-oriented and proactive leaders who take initiative and think like owners.
- We are not a large management company where you're just a number. This is a local family business that believes in long-term relationships, personal accountability, and shared success. We want everyone who joins our team (our family) to grow with us.
