Overview : The Learning Center Student Tutor- Des Plaines Student Employee will provide individualized content and skill-development tutoring to students (tutees). Students in this role will provide as-needed tutoring services to tutees, and are required to attend a 4-6 hour tutor training session in the spring semester. A typical day would include tutoring students on a set subject or set of subjects, on a drop-in or by appointment basis as directed.
Campus Location : Des Plaines
Length of Employment : Spring 2025 : January - May with opportunity to renew hours

Hours Needed : Up to 20 hours per week during Spring semester
Schedule Flexibility : Once accepted, a set schedule will be set up for the semester. There is flexibility in the schedule for taking exams, class preparation, emergencies, and illness.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes :
- Provide individualized content and skill-development tutoring to students (tutees)- (CD, CM, CT, EI, LD, PF, TC)
- Refer students to proper resources / offices based individual need (CT, CM, LD)
- Complete the required tutor training hours each semester, and on an as- needed basis (CD, CM,CT, EI, LD, PF, TW, TC)
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all student information, material, and discussions shared during each tutoring session (LD, PF, TC)
- Adhere to a set schedule throughout the semester (PF)
- Maintain student tutoring records as required (PF, TC)
