Overview:
The Special Event Admission Ambassador Program supports the Office of Admission with prospective student events and activities. Ambassadors serve as positive representatives of the Oakton College student population and are hired as student employees. The program is highly selective, admitting Oakton students who demonstrate commitment to their academics and involvement in student life. Ambassadors participate in college fairs, campus events, and tours, and assist with administrative duties in the office.

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Assist prospective students via phone, online chat, and in-person inquiries (Communication, Customer Service)
- Utilize Oakton information systems to identify answers to student questions (Technology, Critical Thinking)
- Lead small and large scale campus tours (Leadership, Communication)
- Aid admission staff with day-to-day projects, such as preparing and mailing brochures and packets (Teamwork, Detail Orientation)
- Present and serve on panels during on-campus events (Professionalism, Leadership)
- Maintain storage closet and office cubbies (Time Management)

Candidate Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled at Oakton College in at least 6 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good standing at Oakton College.
- Must be currently employed as a student employee at Oakton College.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Able to stand and sit for extended periods, carry boxes up to 25 lbs, and demonstrate reliability and responsibility.
- Friendly, flexible, organized, courteous, and punctual individuals preferred.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills with strong detail orientation.
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office and Google technology (GSUITE) preferred.
