What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEAM Camp Instructor position at Oakton Community College?
The Oakton College Summer STEAM Camp program is looking for enthusiastic and innovative instructor(s) for the 2025 summer camp season to teach the STEAM Team Exploration classes. We are looking for instructor(s) to develop and teach hands-on STEAM curriculum that is fun, yet academically challenging for ages 8-11. We are interested in all STEAM topics.
Class Title and Description:
STEAM Team Exploration
Join our Exploration Team to discover the infinite world of STEAM. This class offers a variety of fun and challenging hands-on activities. Children work in groups just like real scientists and engineers as they study and investigate a variety of STEAM subjects. Take one or take all exploration classes; each class offers new lessons and insights to the world of STEAM.
- Preparation of course presentations and instructional materials (as appropriate)
- Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting courses and laboratories (if appropriate) at scheduled times Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of final grades
Job Requirements:
- Must have a degree in education and significant experience with classroom management
- Must have demonstrated experience using technology in teaching, training, or tutoring of youth (See potential subject matters below)
- Demonstrated experience with the subject matter Must be enthusiastic about hands-on learning

Class 1: 6/9-6/12; Monday-Thursday; 1- 4pm
Class 2: 6/23-6/26; Monday-Thursday; 1- 4pm
Salary:
$50 per hour
