Key Responsibilities
Loan Servicing & Payment Processing
- Process and monitor loan payments, payoffs, and escrow transactions.
- Ensure accurate payment posting and loan record maintenance.
- Manage escrow accounts, tax, and insurance disbursements.
- Ensure compliance with investor and regulatory requirements.
- Contact borrowers regarding past-due payments and establish repayment solutions.
- Negotiate payment arrangements while ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Maintain proper documentation of all borrower communications.
- Ensure all EPD’s are handled properly to avoid repurchase of loan.
- Respond to borrower inquiries regarding loan payments, escrow accounts, and delinquencies.
- Provide support for loan servicing functions, including payment research, loan histories, and account maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state mortgage servicing regulations (e.g., RESPA, FDCPA, CFPB guidelines).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance servicing efficiency.
- Onboard new loans to the sub-servicer, ensuring accuracy and completeness of loan data.
- Process loan transfers, including data validation and reconciliation.
- Coordinate with prior and new servicers to ensure seamless loan transfers.
- Maintain compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines for loan onboarding and transfers.
- Prepare and submit monthly investor reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile loan balances, remittances, and custodial accounts for investor reporting.
- Work with accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and reconcile investor accounts.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and regulatory filings.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years in loan servicing, collections, and mortgage servicing, preferably in mortgage lending.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of mortgage loan products, servicing guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Technology: Proficiency in loan servicing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
