Oncology RVT/Veterinary Assistant

As a specialty practice and 24/7 ER hospital, OakVet offers Internal Medicine, Oncology, Cardiology, Surgery, and RadioCat I-131 treatment to provide top-notch pet care.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site temporary to hire role starting March/April-July for an Oncology Veterinary Technician. The Oncology Veterinary Technician will be responsible for supporting our oncology service administering IV and oral chemotherapy, performing treatments, monitoring patients, and assisting in the care of patients. This role will have direct contact with our clients and their pets.

Qualifications

• Certification/degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent
• California Registered Veterinary Technician license a plus
• Experience in veterinary oncology and chemotherapy administration
• Ability to monitor and recognize patient's status, adverse reactions, and side effects of treatments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with the oncology team, other departments, and clients.
• Familiarity with ezyVet and Smartflow is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities to effectively meet patient needs
• Weekend and Holidays may be required
