Counselor – Addiction Treatment (Teens & Adults | In-Person Virtual)
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Counselor to join our team in delivering high-quality addiction treatment services for both teens and adults. This hybrid role includes a combination of in-person and virtual sessions and requires strong group facilitation skills, clinical presence, and a solid understanding of substance use recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct addiction counseling services in both individual and group settings, across in-person and virtual platforms.
- Facilitate engaging, structured group therapy using evidence-based approaches and recovery models.
- Conduct intake assessments and collaborate with clients to develop personalized recovery goals and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all sessions, client progress, and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and ongoing professional development.
- Support clients in building insight, accountability, and resilience throughout the recovery process.
Qualifications
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). Licensed Masters of Social Work (LMSW), or LCDC Intern (LCDC-I) with 2,000 documented hours.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate group therapy effectively — with structure, empathy, and clarity.
- Strong clinical presence in both in-person and virtual settings (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
- Working knowledge of addiction treatment principles, including CBT, MI, and recovery-oriented care.
- Solid communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Must have a working knowledge of local community resources and service providers.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with both adolescents and adults in addiction recovery settings.
- Familiarity with EHR systems; Kipu experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the clinical team.
- Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus.
- Established relationships within the behavioral health and recovery community are highly valued. Strong preference will be given to candidates with existing professional connections to local referral sources, support services, and community partners.
