What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender/Waitress position at Oakwood Bar, Restaurant & Campground?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcome/greet customers with a friendly face and calm demeaner.
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcoholic beverages
- Check identification to confirm it meets legal drinking age when necessary
- Present bar/drink/dinner menus as well as provide customers with all necessary items needed for dining (utensils, napkins etc.)
- Take customer orders and relay the information to the kitchen staff accurately
- Maintain bar inventory/supplies and also maintain waitress station supplies, keeping items full at each table or behind the bar for customer use
- Interact with customers, take orders, serve snacks and drinks
- Assess customer’s needs and preferences, which could include making recommendations for food or drinks
- Assist with special tasks set forth by your reporting manager
- Focus on providing each guest with an exceptional experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations required by the state of Wisconsin
- Handle cash, credit and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning the correct change to the patrons
- Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning bar/tables, washing glasses/utensils/equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure during stressful or sometimes hectic situations
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Meets minimum age required by the state of Wisconsin to serve alcohol
- Knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Computer literacy
- Critical thinker and problem solving skills
- Team player
- Time-management skills and the ability work alone
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly disposition
- Ability to stand, walk, bend etc. for extended periods of time, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds or more if needed
- Ability to train necessary individuals and delegate tasks as needed
