Job Title: Medical Records Specialist
Our healthcare facility is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team. The Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and updating patient medical records in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain patient medical records in both electronic and paper formats
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all medical records
- Process requests for medical records from patients, healthcare providers, and other authorized parties
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist healthcare providers with accessing and interpreting medical records as needed
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical record-keeping regulations and guidelines
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in medical records management or related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical record systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and other legal requirements related to medical records management
