Oakwood Heights Village is seeking an RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) who has a love for working with seniors and a passion for healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Collects, records and analyzes data on healthcare acquired or associated infections (HAI) based on facility needs, devises target areas for HAI surveillance and makes recommendations for control measures or interventions.
  • Assists with infection control services for residents, visitors and staff.
  • Conducts in-service education classes on infection control and prevention, antiseptics and disinfectants, specific infectious disease and other related health care issues.
  • Initiates outbreak investigations and reports to appropriate government agencies when necessary.
  • Assists with the establishment of standards of infection control practice that is scientifically based and consistent with regulatory requirements.
  • Routinely observes staff perform proper technique for the control of infection.
  • Gather, report, track and trend resident incidents, falls, alarms, TB testing, pressure ulcers, infections, etc.
  • Acts as a clinical resource to staff; maintains visibility in the clinical environment for just in time learning facilitation and / or assisting in providing direct patient care.
  • Precepts registered nurses new to the department.
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

    • Requirements :

  • Ability to prioritize, and posesses successful time management.
  • Posesses Microsoft Office Skills (Especially Excel).
  • Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state licensure.
  • Must have, as a minimum, 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Long term care preferred.
