What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity and Wellness Coordinator position at Oakwood Senior Living?
Overview
The Activity and Wellness Coordinator will be the leader of the activity and meaningful engagement department, creating a schedule of activities, performing activities, and setting up care staff to perform activities in their absence. It will also be part of their responsibility to work on the floor as a med passer at minimum once a week to keep up to date on elder status and skill. Lastly as a leader in the community this role will be on call every other week.
Duties
- Plan and coordinate activity calendar, special events, parties and celebration, and lead scheduled activities
- Contact and arrange outside entertainment, music, religious opportunities, and others
- Run errands and order supplies as needed
- Help serve and clean meals as directed
- Attend and participate in staff meetings
- Promotes a positive team approach environment
- Be flexible and cover where needed
- Be on call for staffing needs and schedule changes, covering ALA shifts as necessary
- Assist leadership team with delegated tasks
- Serve as a guide and coach to ALA's and Dietary Activity staff
- Perform all tasks of an ALA
Requirements
- Assisted Living Experience
- Management Experience (preferred)
- Compassion for working with elderly population
