What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduling Coordinator, 2nd Shift position at Oakwood Village?
BASIC FUNCTION
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the scheduling process for all nursing staff, nursing assistants, medical administration assistants, and resident assistants for the campus.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates the scheduling process in accordance to department and scheduling policies, as well as the collective bargaining agreement.
- Sources staff to cover shift openings as needed.
- Offers overtime to meet department needs in a cost-effective manner when authorized and/or necessary.
- Coordinates schedule trades in a cost effective manner.
- Creates and maintains a master shift schedule two to four weeks in advance. Communicates changes and updates to the master schedule in a timely manner.
- Processes staff requests for paid time off and leaves of absence in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensures payroll records reflect applicable schedule changes.
- Monitors and tracks attendance and tardiness of staff members in each department.
- Coordinates with supervisors when there is a need for corrective action. Prepares corrective actions for supervisors to deliver to staff members.
- Maintains records in an organized and tidy manner.
- Performs other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to carry out responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
- Knowledge of clerical practices and skills in the use of office equipment including electronic devices, computers, and software.
- Ability to communicate with staff members in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and to be accurate and neat in job details.
- Ability to work in a partnership environment which fosters effective teamwork in meeting the mission of Oakwood.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to be helpful, understanding, and empathetic toward residents.
- Willingness to accept weekend and occasional overtime hours.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING
- High school education or equivalency required. Post-secondary degree preferred.
- Previous computer experience required.
- Previous industry scheduling experience preferred.
- Certified nursing assistant experience preferred.
