Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) / Medical Assistant
Location: Oasis Behavioral Health, Kennewick, WA
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) / Medical Assistant at Oasis Behavioral Health, you will play a vital role as a member of our multidisciplinary team. You will support the delivery of high-quality mental healthcare in our outpatient clinic, combining behavioral health responsibilities with medical assistant duties. This hybrid role enhances client treatment and recovery, ensures safety, and promotes a positive environment for both clients and staff.
Client Care and Support:
- Provide compassionate care and support to clients with diverse mental health needs.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision of clients at regular intervals.
Medical Assistance:
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and weight.
- Assist clinical staff with medical procedures and treatments as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized treatment rooms, ensuring all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with clinical staff to implement treatment plans and ensure comprehensive client care.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and treatment planning sessions.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and staff, ensuring clear communication and support.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Document clinical observations, medical information, and client interactions accurately and promptly.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain up-to-date client records.
- Assist in the development of discharge plans and track client milestones.
Treatment Administration:
- Support various treatment modalities, providing assistance in administering therapeutic interventions as directed by clinical staff.
- Help create a therapeutic environment that fosters healing and recovery.
Crisis Intervention:
- Utilize training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage high-stress situations effectively.
- Monitor client behavior and respond appropriately to ensure safety and well-being.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with current credentials.
- Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to client care.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Proficiency in documentation and basic computer skills.
- Training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques or willingness to obtain certification.
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in psychology, social work, or a related healthcare field.
- 1 years of experience as a medical assistant in a mental health setting.
- Knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities and therapeutic interventions.
- BLS/CPR certification.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Multilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
