Peer Support Specialist
The Peer Support Specialist at the Oasis Center is a clinic focused position supporting patients experiencing substance use disorders who have young children. This position will promote recovery and family stabilization by supporting patients and connecting with community resources. This position is an essential part of the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with the Oasis Care Team and Medical providers to support patients experiencing substance use disorders to engage in care, treatment, and to navigate resources
- Manage a caseload of patients
- Document in electronic health record
- Role model recovery, parenthood, and self-efficacy
- Provide patient transportation within community to support health and recovery goals Maintains a high level of confidentiality
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Previous experience in peer support preferred
- Current and valid Oregon Driver’s License and able to be insured
- Active in recovery from substance use
- Peer Support Certification, able to obtain after hire
- Community Health Worker certification preferred
