Oasis Day Camp in Dobbs Ferry NY at Mercy University at 555 Broadway Dobbs Ferry, (must live close to commute to camp) is looking to hire fun, dynamic individuals for the summer of 2025! Our Counselor positions provide an excellent experience for “camp people” and those who enjoy working with children in a positive, fun-filled environment. If you live outside of Lower Westchester, please evaluate the commute to camp and its COSTS as you will be arriving each day by 8am and leaving at 5:00pm.

Position Summary
Counselors are mentors and role models for Oasis children. They bring the fun and energy to camp each and every day, while also taking the time to ensure the safety of all campers: managing their behavior, building relationships with them, and making sure that they are engaged in the wide array of offered activities. Counselors work as part of a team with a specific group of children over the course of the summer.
Qualifications
Required
- Must be 17 years of age
- Must be able to commit to work from June 30th - August 22nd from 8:00am to 5:00pm * * (including 2-3 training days BEFORE camp begins on the 30th).
- Demonstrated interest in working with children
- Live close by to get to work on time

- Experience in a summer camp or after school setting/working with children in groups
General Responsibilities
Camper Management- 75%
Counselors work hands on with a group of 12-18 children over the course of the summer, providing them with the tools and structure they need to be successful in a day camp environment. Being a Counselor means you will be serving as a leader and role model for campers throughout the day, and creating a fun and inclusive environment for children of all types and abilities. Counselors are expected to participate in all activities with campers, including our swim program.
Communication with Co-Counselors and Leadership Staff- 25%
Counselors work together to ensure the success of their campers throughout the summer, and this requires working together with other Counselors and your direct and indirect supervisors. It is essential that Counselors communicate any issues that arise during the course of the day to their co-counselors and supervisors.
